I have a 12' Opening in my house and am looking for a retractable gate for pets. Does this retract automatically? If so I know I can mount it somehow

We also bought it to try and contain our pets in the garage while we were there. Unfortunately the screen is not strong enough to withhold a Rottweiler who can easily go under or jump over it.

has anyone used this item for a dog fence/gate? Success? Effective?

We have had this at the front of our 22 feet garage door that I drilled a 7/8" hole on each side behind the door sensors and it keep's our 3 dogs in pretty much. Once in awhile our small one bolts under it for a cat, but the two big guy's have not crossed it. It's been over a year our more and lasting great till we get hooked in it trying to go over it ourselves. My wife is a dog trainer here and she's happy.....Good luck. Robb

Can i instal this into concrete? I am trying to put up a net/gate in front of the opening in my garage.

It would be very difficult to install this into concrete. You would have to drill hole to install the gate/net into. Also this gate is made of very week material. I would not have bought it again and would not recommend others to buy it.

I've read many complaints about the lack of visibility. Is the orange guard more visible than the black?

Yes, the orange color net will be more visible in bright sunlight than the black.
