Diamond Select Toys Marvel Select Thanos Action Figure

I have no idea how this figure isn't selling for more than $40 let alone at such a low price right now. While it's detail isn't amazing, his height, bulk, and overall presence is unmatched by any other Thanos figure out there as of now. The blue on his clothes makes him pop on any shelf in case his size wasn't enough. The Infinity Gauntlet he comes with pops on with a little bit of effort, so be careful not to yank off his whole arm. Twist and swivel the wrist for a while, then continue while pulling it at the same time and that should get either hand off easily. Awesome figure, definitely worth the price and more.

The Thanos piece is very durable. The art of it is beautiful. It’s nice and strong. My godson loves it. The only thing is we’re having a hard time getting the hand off to switch the fist to the open hand but as I read in a prior review use a flat head screwdriver, that was very helpful. Other than that I have no complaints. It’s a beautiful piece. 😉

First I want to say despite my less-than-5-star rating... this will be one of my favorite figurine sets (once I'm done with it). Well, not figurine set. To call this a "figurine" is under-stating this monster of a figure. It is the largest I own in this category. One would consider Thanos to be massive and in that aspect, this set does not disappoint. Even Death is fairly good sized compared to other figurines... yet she is dwarfed by the size and weight of the Thanos figure. In this regard, this set is awesome. So awesome in fact, I so very much regret not being able to honestly give it five stars... because with a little extra time and care this could have easily scored such a rating. However as other commenters have posted, there are flaws. The paint job isn't shoddy, but it doesn't come close to what is presented in the photos. The death figure had paint chipped off the top of her head right out of the box. The "gold" of Thanos outfit is more of a blah unimpressive ochre... not unpleasant but nothing near gold. The deep crevices of Thanos' face are sadly lacking in painted detail; they appear just flat-painted purple. The deep musculature painting of Thanos is equally lacking. Fortunately the sculpture itself suffices to provide good contrast. The red highlighting of death's costume is missing. Probably most disappointing is the "female face" that comes with the Death figurine. It is flesh colored (which is in line with some of the comics, but I prefer those that presented Death's face as a light blue). Problematic is the mask doesn't fit the figurine. It doesn't snap in place, it doesn't conform and fit well. In short, what it looks like is a fake female mask attached to a death figurine. Frankly, I'd have rather them formed a female face to the body and added a death mask. So minus one star for the paint job, one star for the poorly-formed mask. They could have done better. Mind you, if you're a miniatures painter the paint job is not really a problem and even adds a bit of "fun" to the project. I fully intend to do some significant washes, dry-brushing and gold-waxing on these characters to bring out the details. For those who do such painting it will be fairly easy to turn this into a 5-star display in an hour or two. With just a little effort you can easily overcome its flaws and bring it up to "code". For those who don't paint miniatures or who don't want to paint it, well... this still makes a rather impressive set overall. The quality of sculpture is EXCELLENT... which is why I'm not worried about adding paint highlights. This set is so well formed it invites the final hobbyist's touch. The sculpting is near flawless (with the exception of a couple of areas where the flash wasn't quite trimmed well... common in this industry). When I set this on the shelf with my other figurines, even the large ones are dwarfed by the massive form of Thanos-- as they well should be. How I would love to have a quality Adam Warlock figurine to set beside it (the ones currently on the market are not impressive). I had no difficulty in switching out the Infinity Gauntlet. It takes some pull and a bit of throwing caution to the wind, but they exchange easily enough. If one prefers a closed fist instead of the open hand of the Infinity Gauntlet-- it's good to note the two gloves are almost identical in form. A bit of paint on the knuckle jewels and a bit of model putty to add a 6th jewel to the back of the hand will accomplish this easily. Thus one has two options in this area-- the open hand or a modified closed-fist. Despite the (actually 3.5) stars-- based soley on failure to finish the job properly-- this set is well-worth-the-money and highly recommended. If you're a fan of the Thanos' mythos (he is truly one of my favorite ex-villains)... this set has all the personality and presence you could desire.

Got this for my son whom is obsessed with the Avengers, and since I prefer comic book thanos over mcu thanos, I thought this would be the perfect gift whilst simultaneously educating the boy on the real infinity gauntlet story. This toy is huge! I was not expecting it to be so big but I think it's better that way since he is way bigger than the avengers anyway, so it kind of works with his other action figures. This is probably more of a collectable than a toy so it's perfect for someone looking for a cool piece of comic book history. Oh and Mistress Death comes with her reggae face too so she doesn't always have to be in death form.

Thanos is so substantial, but at the same time still feels sturdy. I have read other reviews for larger marvel select figures that complain of limbs falling off because they are too heavy. That is truly not the case here! He is pretty pose-able, and stands up by himself. It is a little hard changing his hand for the Gauntlet but once its in there it is not coming off. The lady Death figure is one solid piece, a nice extra, but her human lady face doesn't really stay on. Personally I don't really like her lady face, so I'm fine with that. I ordered this for myself with an amazon gift card that I got for my birthday and when it arrived(very fast shipping) my boyfriend wanted to steal it for himself! So over all I(and my BF) are very happy with this.

this series of Diamond Select toys is REALLY good. Each piece looks like the person it's supposed to be, and comes with really incredible accessories. Thanos comes with an Infinity Gauntlet and an entire second figure; Death herself. The Punisher comes with a beat-up punk on a broken pinball table, all extremely high-quality, and Black Cat is REALLY the top. She has a set that is a window and a safe. She's stealing, from the safe, a Kevin Smith script, while the other "accessory", Spider-Man, watches from outside the window. You'll have to see them to believe them, and they are MUCH cheaper than lesser products. The others all looked good, too, but those are the three I've bought so far.

This figure is pretty incredible. He's got nice size and bulk to him, I must have been one of the luckier customers to get one where the guantlet wasn't hard to change out, and the paint job was on point. I have had no problems with paint chipping or anything. Lady Death looks great as well, her mask covers her skull face perfectly, she just isnt very articulate at all. Her arms move up and down, and thats it. Anyway, this is a great figure, a lot bigger than I was expecting. He stands around 8 inches. If you're a Marvel fan, I recommend this figure.

I just started collecting Diamond Select’s Marvel Select line and have been so impressed. This Thanos has such great paint apps and great details. Death is super simple but very cool - the “human” female face is super creepy so I don’t even use it. Amazon shipped it very quick, with great packaging and great condition.

La figura está impresionante. Mucho más alta y pesada que el legends. Las articulaciones y pintura son básicos, pero eso no le quita movilidad. El accesorio de la muerte es muy necesario para la colección, que aunque no tiene articulación, la pintura del rostro está genial. Muy complacido con el producto, superó mis expectativas y al mejor precio, 645 pesos. Si lo ven en menos de 700 es toda una joya está figura (es como tener una Marvel legends baf y aparte la estatuilla de la muerte). Además llegó a tiempo sin ningún problema.

Para mi la mejor figura de Thanos, es muy articulable, la imagen es exacta a los comics y realmente encaja en tamaño con los marvel legends. Algunos dibujantes de comics lo dibujan grande y otros mas pequeño. Es perfecto la verdad
