The Natural Rock Salt is actually rock salt, extracted from ancient rock deposits. It is not sea salt.

This salt is not Kosher certified.

Is this a good everyday cooking salt or more for specialtiy dishes like steaks and marinades?

This is a very course salt. Would not be used as an every day salt. You could place it in a salt grinder and use. It is definitely a specialty salt. I use it to marinate chicken wings and Tri tip. Hope this helps.
