Can I extend the kit by adding more panels, if so what would be the maximum panels, would I need an uprated charge controller ?

Hello! This kit, and the controller it comes with, can handle up to 4x 100watt panels if all panels were connected in parallel. You do not need to upgrade the controller to do this. -Oscar N.

This charge controller does not have an output for lighting etc like most charge controllers I have looked at. How does this work?

The charge controller connects straight to your battery, from there you would wire the battery terminals to a fuse box where you can wire in your lights and other devices.

my vehicle battery is connected to leisure battery, cant the solar system be connected at the same time whilst the van is running or should this only?

In just converting a minibus.I've got the solar charging my vehicle battery while it's standing still, but when I start up, I disconnect my solar system. I'm not sure that the solar charge controller would be happy with the high current draw when you start your vehicle.

Would 3 of these be enough for a 1 person log cabin for living or can you recommend something better cheap?
