Not much to say about the calculator: it is a scientific calculator with a number of higher math functions. Absent a sufficient user manual, those who have never used a scientific calculator will have a bit to learn from online sources.The accompanying “writing board” is a fun addition, especially if one likes to doodle during boring lectures. Pragmatically, it serves to make note of formulae and calculations that will be incorporated into pending calculations; capturing fleeting thoughts; or making note of a potential significant other’s telephone number.The scratchings on the board can be locked to prevent erasure. The board is not backlit so a bright light/room is helpful. One other note, the missing pen, as one described it, is rather stealthy in its location and not readily apparent – perhaps accounting for its being missed. The pen is nicely stored in a receptacle at the bottom of the calculator-side housing at the hinge. Hard to notice but for the minimally knurled edge. A nice touch, really.A nice calculator with a fun writing board. Go for it!
