BLONDEME Keratin Restore Intense Care Bonding Potion for All Blondes, 5.0-Ounce

I think there’s a misunderstanding about this product. This is simply the 1st step of a 2 product/2 step disulfide bond creating/enforcing system. The (critical) 2nd step is the Schwarzkopf Keratin Restore Bonding Mask. Using BOTH steps, I have seen awesome results, comparable to Olaplex 1 and 2, both in regards to color application and as a stand alone treatment (no color application involved). For almost as long as Olaplex has been on the market, I have used it as a weekly or biweekly stand alone treatment for my bleached hair. My colorist has also used Olaplex in every single color/bleach application I’ve had him do since Olaplex hit the professional market. So I’m very well versed in the properties of Olaplex and can speak honestly about just how awesome it is, both when used with bleach/color and as a treatment (steps 1 and 2). I’ve been fortunate in that my colorist has been willing to buy Olaplex steps 1 and 2 for me at Cosmoprof whenever I need it. So I know for SURE I’ve been using the genuine authentic products. Because my hair has been bleached to hell and back, and also because most Sundays I’m at home just relaxing, I’ve used steps 1 and 2 sometimes along with an intensive protein treatment but always followed by a very hydrating mask (without protein if I’ve done a protein treatment separately). That said, I feel I’m justified in reviewing Olaplex dupes, of which I’ve already tried several.The Schwarzkopf 2 product/step bonding system has given me results that are pretty much identical to Olaplex 1 and 2. And basically I’ve used the Schwarzkopf 2 step system in exactly the same way. I ALWAYS start with damp product free hair. I use a clarifying shampoo first since I do use a considerable amount of styling product plus Olaplex cannot penetrate silicone and many of the products I use do contain this ingredient. I have assumed the Schwarzkopf system is pretty much the same in this respect so I have not changed my routine. I towel dry to about 75% and then apply the first step of the Schwarzkopf 2 part system making sure to concentrate on the mid lengths and ends and that these areas are well saturated. However, it’s not necessary to DOUSE hair with product since more than a light coating is just wasting the product and will not improve results. I then cover with a plastic shower cap and leave the first step on for 90 minutes. (Olaplex stops working after 90 minutes so I’m assuming the Schwarzkopf is the same.)When time is up, and WITHOUT RINSING, I apply The Schwarzkopf Keratin Restore Bonding Mask directly over the first step that’s already on my hair. Again, a light coating is all that’s needed. I cover with the shower cap and leave it on for another 90 minutes.Just fyi: it takes at LEAST 10 minutes to create a disulfide bond and at LEAST 10 minutes to reinforce it. When my colorist uses Olaplex in my bleach, he adds step 1 to the bleach mixture and then AFTER RINSING the bleach out, he applies Olaplex step 2. If he’s super busy he only lets the Olaplex steep for 10 minutes but if he’s not expecting another client quickly, he will let it sit for up to 30 minutes. When I have bleached my own hair using Olaplex, I have let the 2nd step sit on my hair overnight.After the 2nd step is done in the 90 minute period, I sometimes do an intensive protein treatment. If not, I use a hydrating mask since for some people Olaplex (and this Schwarzkopf system) can be drying. Neither is for me but it’s a good time to do a moisturizing step in any case. I often leave the mask on overnight especially if it’s late in the day.If you only do this one Schwarzkopf step, you will NOT get the same results as you would using both steps. Yes, hair may feel stronger. HOWEVER without the 2nd step that reinforces the bonds, the good results will not last anywhere near as long. If my hair feels great, I will sometimes skip a week, doing the full Monty treatment biweekly or even monthly.It’s worth the money to purchase the Schwarzkopf Bonding Mask. Right now you can buy it relatively inexpensively on Amazon and I highly recommend doing so. I did try just the first Schwarzkopf step, which is the product on this page but honestly, I could definitely see a difference as the days went by. My results using BOTH steps have been spectacular, as good as they are (were) with Olaplex 1 and 2.

This stuff is awesome! It is a hairdressers tool for success! I use this product after high-lift blonde Lightener application. I have watched the combination of this product along with the two other steps bring hair back from mush to previous lightning condition. It was unbelievable!

Product is amazing. It smells so good. I would say the only big downside for me is the size of the bottle in comparison to the mask. Almost equal and price but size of potion should really make it a $10 bottle or less. For the amount of hair i have this is probably maybe at best a month and thats really a stretch like putting a little water in the bottle stretch. I would need probably 3 bottles of this and one mask.Too small for me for price. Outside of size, product is great.

It does a miracle to the bleached hair.

Ok, so I have tried several brands and different product to improve my treated hair condition after each treatment. I am now using several product from Schwarzkopf's BlondME line and I am totally satisfied with this one. I have used it in combination with the BlondMe keratin mask to treat my hair. The mid and end's always look improved after using/applying the mask in combination of this bonding potion. First, I do apply the care bonding potion from mid length hair until the ends and after 3 minutes I do apply the mask until a total amount of 10 minutes have passed since the care bonding potion has been applied on semi wet hair (towel dried hair). After that, I do rinse both products from my hair and nothing further. It leaves my hair in perfect condition, shiny and soft.

This is the first time I have tried this brand. I plan on continuing to use it. It does what it is supposed to do.The smell is nice and there are easy to follow directions. Helped my hair after coloring it.

I use the whole blonde me system. This along with the mask keeps my hair in great shap!
