Great first impression and better than expected
I was pleasantly suprised to find the Lifeproof Fre SHOT case did not add any excessive bulk or volume to my iPhone 6. I was using a very bulky (& deteriorating) Otterbox Defender because I needed protection (mostly water/grease) for my iphone. The Fre should provide more moisture protection, at the same time being trimmer and sleeker in my pocket.I think the kickstand is attached tightly to the case but when extended, seems (by design) to have an “easy breakaway” feature that is easy to reattach, so as not to render the kickstand permanently broken from the case. The wide lens attachment works as advertised but as an owner of several aftermarket iPhone camera lenses, I know there are much higher quality lenses out there with cooler effects. After testing the lens, I put it back in the box and will probably never mention it again 👀. It would be VERY cool however if Lifeproof or another aftermarket company released additional photo lens options (e.g., macro, fisheye, zoom, etc.).UPDATE: out of curiosity, I wanted to see if any of my other aftermarket lenses fit and 2 of them did!! I can fit a macro and fisheye lens to the case!

A mixed review you can believe
It's hard to give a better rating. I have some great things to say, but some not so great. I'm having a hard time shopping for replacement waterproof case -because I can't trust Amazon reviews anymore after some 'Amazon Choices' with great reviews that actually stunk.-Most importantly, it's great for protecting your phone. I've dropped it countless times on hard surfaces, even from a 12' ladder. Its predecessor was the same model, sans wide angle lens. It had been dropped into a toilet and a bathtub with no problems. And, it flew off the roof of my car as I was just hitting speed after an onramp. The phone was fine and the case only scuffed. I never felt compelled to see if it's actually scuba safe now. The audio quality, touch screen and fit were all good.I could be a spokesperson if it weren't for- The camera covers on each gave me blurry, hazy pix because of the film covering the camera. I popped it out and it's a huge difference. There's still a gasket there but I don't want to test it in water. Next, the audio jack. It's probably safer with the screw-in plug but that makes it a time-consuming total pain to plug in an audio cord, and you need to use their special threaded adapter. On top of that, it falls apart. The previous one lasted a couple years. This one's torn up in less than 6 months so I'm shopping something else, with difficulty

and I like that I've never once ended up with a cracked ...
I purchased this case because I'd had one on a previous phone. I tend to drop my phone quite a bit, and I like that I've never once ended up with a cracked screen using this case. I've taken this case into swimming pools and was able to video underwater shots of my son doing handstands. More recently my boyfriend and I went on a trip to Yosemite.we climbed up some rocks so I could get a good view and picture of some small water falls and a surrounding pool of water. When I leaned forward, my phone slipped and went right over the rocks and splashed into the water below. Not really planning on going swimming in the freezing water from the melted snow, my boyfriend was able to see the solid green stripe on the side of the phone, so he decided to dive in and was able to rescue the phone. He was so happy when he seen that the case really does work. LifeProof, saved me about $800 from having to purchase a new phone. I highly recommend this case

Great addition for remote photo shoots!
I've used LifeProof cases on my iPhones for years, and have never had one fail the waterproof test. One time I dropped it face down on a rock just a little taller than the rest in the gravel parking lot where I worked, and boom--spiderweb screen. But there's little help any case could give against that.I'm constantly outdoors: running, playing disc golf, camping, trimming trees--and I can take my phone out at any time with no fear of water or dirt. Being a photographer, I wanted to test this Fre Shot series out. When I'm running, I only have my iPhone with me, so it's nice to have the little lens to get those wide-angle shots with my phone. The single wide-angle lens comes with two lens covers for front and back, and a cloth carry bag to wipe lenses free of dirt and smudges, which is also great for your case's screen. It's small enough that I usually keep it in my front pocket. It's not going to compete with your DSLR, but it's a fun addition that can give your phone photos just a little more depth. In the photos below you can see the difference between a portrait shot without the lens, and the second portrait shot with the lens, which captures more of the foreground and the sides of your shot (sorry, Amazon's photo loader wouldn't rotate the photos properly). And the third picture is a landscape orientation taken with the lens. And when you're back at the cabin showing off your videos or pics, the little kickstand comes in handy. It can be flimsy when extended, but it's nice and secure when snapped into the case. As long as you're not handling your phone like a bear, the stand won't pop off when extended.I've had it over a month now, and would definitely buy it again!Anyway, I think it's a great, lightweight addition for backcountry or spur of the moment photo shoots, with the peace of mind knowing your phone is protected from the elements at all times.

nice product; hope it's as waterproof as other life proof products
bought this for my son. he loves it, and it passed the waterproof "test" with flying colours... but we haven't been using it in real world pool/ocean conditions to really see how it performs yet. family members use other life proof products though, and they seem to be the most reliable on the market.

Has an inherent design flaw
A great phone case except for one critical design flaw which has caused the door covering the charging port to break. This means the case is no longer waterproof and therefore useless for the purpose I bought it. I have actually bought two and the same problem occurred within a year on each. I was hoping the first one was an anomaly but alas! I even ensured that I only opened and closed the door when I needed the water protection, which was only once a week or so, and it still broke within a year.

no good
this item ripped within a day where you turn the volume up and down, hence making it no longer waterproof. Also, you can't take a video or picture with this case on. That's a lot of money for something to have so many problems. then it just started to fall apart! so frustrating

Life proof case + extras GREAT
It has a stand for when you want to watch videos. The camera lens is great, a bit of a pain to carry around. But it gives a great fish eye view. I recommend it.
