Triquetra: A protective symbol. The Holy Trinity. The self at the center of the whole. Existing in unity with all. Also known as the Trinity Knot or Celtic Triangle. The protective circle interweaves in an unbroken flow, symbolizing the eternal life of the spirit. In ritual/meditation, it represents the self at the center of all, protected and acting in unity. Maintenance and Washing: Whereas regular cast iron has to be seasoned to stop it from rusting; enameled does not. The enamel forms a protective layer. Applying a light layer of oil is beneficial but not necessary. Hand washing with warm soapy water and a nylon (non-scratchy) sponge is recommended. Prolonged exposure to fire will burn off the enamel, in which case the cast iron would need to be coated with oil on a regular basis, like regular cast iron. Treat it as you would all modern (i.e. enameled) cast iron cookware.
