Ready and a great device for storm preparedness! As a transplant to an area prone to hurricanes and severe storms, it was suggested I make this purchase. It came in quickly, was VERY easy to set up and the instructions provided all the support I needed to have my device sound three times the first day! Nothing that caused local damage this time but I will know when to prepare! Price point, size and easy set up make this a winner for my needs!

This thing is an absolute life saver, and easy to set up! (My 11 year old did it) we live in a rural area that lacks tornado sirens, after a close call we picked this up. It is loud enough to get me up in the middle of the night and is a very high quality. The battery backup saved us multiple times after losing power in the middle of a storm.

Works great, easy to set up,definitely like that you can choose how loud it gets, it doesn't take up a lot of room, can pick up multiple counties and has good reception

Radio works and receives the S.A.M.E. Broadcasts as well as providing the NOAA weather found on all seven stations. Tune to the one that comes in the best and that is probably the one covering your area. Check on Weather.gov. Programming the SAME Broadcasts is somewhat difficult and may take several attempts to get it right. If it is wrong then it appears that the radio does not work correctly so this operation is critical. The SAME codes can be found on weather.gov/nwr/counties (see page 3 of manual). Several comments have mentioned this and most likely that is the problem. I only gave it 4 stars because of the programming issue. Other than that this is a great radio for weather hazard conditions. And it has battery backup in case of loss of power.

Extremely easy to program. Just select your language, country, state, etc., county. Then select best channel reception. Easy peasy. A 💯% must have for everyone. Great product. Great price. Fast delivery.

Got it the day before a big tornado outbreak and it worked great! slightly confusing to set up - not intuitive - but once I got it done, it was great. I keep it in a different room because it's so loud - heard it with no problem. I think everyone should have one!

A must have for weather info, you can set it for specific areas and access local area weather reports. The alarm feature is especially useful for early warning.

While this is an excellent radio and a must for homes prone to severe weather, it is a nightmare to program and the instructions are useless.

Seems to work fine and do it's job. Haven't had any alerts yet but in test mode the alarm is plenty loud enough. Simple enough to set up if you are used to working with appliance menus,. Even simpler to operate. Single button operation turns weather forecast on or off.

Funciona perfecto con la señal de alerta sísmica en la CDMX (igual EDOMEX), en general agarra la señal de radio de la alerta muy bien, no tiene el sonido "clásico" de la alerta sísmica pero el tono de alerta (es muy parecido al de un reloj despertador) es fuerte y claro incluso en su volumen bajo. No importa si se va la luz, con el respaldo de las baterías sigue funcionado a la perfección, tiene una salida de audio a amplificador o altavoz, salida de antena (RCA) externa para aumentar señal, salida a estrobo o dispositivo de alertamiento lumínico. Recordar que se debe estar en un estado con cobertura de SASMEX. Mucho mejor precio y función que el "radio oficial de sasmex" (precios exagerados de robo y hace exactamente los mismo, no se deje timar).

i paid for this thinking since it has the S.A.M.E. feature it could be programmed to any country but no just within USA or Canada. Worked fine for a couple seconds with batteries in but had to find an adapter and keep it plugged into the wall; if I didn't have an adapter as it comes with the 2 pronged USA charger. The material feels fairly cheap particularly the charging cord and it feels could snap at any moment; the device itself 1. it reminds me of an early 00s CD player you carry around with you, which isn't bad but it doesn't last with the 3x double AA batteries (i tried a couple different ones, brand new) and so i can't really carry around with me and doesn't pick up any of the stations as I am on the other side of the atlantic so if I decided to go to USA to visit my friends or visit my family in Canada I can't even check for potential storms and so on, as even with the antenna doesn't pick up anything, just static and i can't even program with the feature to the region and place I am in 2.when you turn towards you you can't see anything on the display; it has 2 little collapsible legs so it's at an angle but if for example you tried mounting it to the wall you can't see anything. Can't pick up any stations or program it to where I am unfortunately. Tried to see if i could and reading the instructions and watching videos of the same product so I could have a reason to keep it but unfortunately will have to return it.

Compré este producto por que la alerta sísmica pública en la zona en la que vivo, se escucha a lo lejos, por lo que a veces no es fácil percibirla (CDMX, México). Cuando la instalé seguí las recomendaciones de los videos de YouTube para poder configurarlo, pero emitía alerta por mensajes desconocidos o falsas alarmas. Por lo que tuve que ingresar al menú de alertas y desactivar prácticamente todas y solo dejar la de emergencia desconocida (que es donde avisa la de terremoto). Hasta este momento no he tenido problemas con falsas alertas y funcionó perfecto en el simulacro del 19 de septiembre de 2022, inclusive sonó antes que los altavoces públicos cuando minutos después sucedió el sismo ese mismo día. Por lo que, con experiencia les puedo decir que es un producto confiable y relativamente fácil de configurar. Solo es prestar atención en desactivar casi todos los avisos y dejar el adecuado para terremoto.

I've gotten this item over a month ago for were I live in Ottawa. Item works very well to alert me of severe thunderstorm or tornado watch. The setup for this device was easy right out of the box environment Canada channel are already program for each location on this device. I highly recommend for people that live in an active area to get this best 40$ invested
