There is an overview of the philosophy behind this traditionally vegetarian cuisine as well as dietary recommendations and guidelines. The recipes are perfect for all occasions, with appetisers, mains and desserts as well as sauces, soups and beverages. Recipes include courgette and potato mousaka, cauliflower pakora, dum aloo and warming Indian Chai tea. This cookbook will be an essential addition to the shelves of yoga students and teachers, practitioners of ayurvedic medicine, vegetarians or anyone interested in a vegetarian diet or the ayurvedic approach to life. Review: Delicious Vegetarian Recipes - This cookbook was very interesting because for many of the recipes, I did not know exactly what I was going to be making, and just followed the directions. Yes, I could have looked it up online, but that seemed like a lot of trouble if you ask me. One of my favorite parts of this book (other than the recipes) was that our author explained the vegetarian diet and where yogic cooking came into play. Before this book, I had never even heard about yogic cooking! However, this cookbook brought me back to the idea that cooking healthy and clean can really help with your health. I noticed right away that I felt more energized and cleaner on the inside when I started eating more of a vegetarian diet years ago and this cookbook was a good reminder of that. I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in yoga and itโs connection to food and vice versa. I actually got this book for a friend for her birthday this month and canโt wait to see what she has to say! For this reason, I gave this book 5/5 beans! Review: Five Stars - I love it!! Healthy food, very nicely presented. Worth buying it!!!

This is an interesting book that shares principals of yogic cooking along with recipes. Most of the rules sound rather sensible and healthy, but some of them sound rather impractical like "never reheat food" and "serve as soon as you have finished cooking". The "basic recipe" which should be included with meals every day calls for black or white mustard seeds - and the only mustard seeds that I have found so far in grocery stores are yellow ones. If you are interested in cooking and eating according to yogic principals, I think you will find this book to be helpful. I received this book free to review from Netgalley.
