Very solid. Ball bearing is smooth, however I do believe the tape may be off a little. Thought it was me at first, but checked with a laser and the reading on my wheel is 2/10s short for every 10 feet of roll. Not a huge deal for my purposes, but other wheel tapes I've owned were more accurate.Wanted to update this to 5 stars as I think the inaccuracy I was seeing was from operator error, not the tape. The ball bearing construction makes the wheel roll very easy, which is great....except if you're trying to go to fast. If you pull the wheel off of the measured surface before coming to a complete stop...it continues to spin. If you bump the wheel on something it will spin. My issue was that I was pulling backwards after coming to a stop, but still on the surface. So the wheel would spin back and accounts for my 2/10s issue above. I'm very impressed.

Accurate, foldable, lightweight and easy to use.

We were in the market for a new Measuring device because the one we had given out on us. I searched EVERYWHERE, read reviews, compared prices, and decided to take the leap of faith and purchased the Komelon! NEVER TURNED BACK!We own a carpet cleaning business and we got one of the laser measuring devices but it was giving us bad readings. We needed something reliable and with this you dont have to worry about batteries!So many things RIGHT with this product:- VERY portable- Takes Quick Measurements-Measures in tenths of a footAfter about 60 ft it tends to become inaccurate. What we have done is measure 3 times and take the average. If you are looking for exact measurements go with a high quality laser measuring device.***I previously reviewed this product March 26, 2014 and wanted to update... This product is STILL Going strong and we use it almost DAILY!

I bought this because I didn’t want to spend a ton of money on something I was only going to use a few times and this fit the bill. The instructions say it’s not for outdoor use but I used it gently on firm soil and it worked perfect. I cleaned it after and it’s all good. I can’t report on the accuracy because I was up and down on rocky terrain but it looked to be close to my rough guesstimates. It’s built fairly well and should hold up for years of random use. I think it’s a pretty nice tool to have.

This is a great buy. It's super affordable and pretty dern accurate. I purchased this for setting up distance markers for a shooting range. I took off one star because I had not anticipated the wheel size being a problem. The ground I measured out was pretty uneven. The wheel was only about four inches in diameter so it would get stuck in little divots. This would slightly throw off my measurement, but, it still works great. If the distances you intend to measure are over nice even ground, save yourself some cash and get this item, because it's more than up to the task. However, if you are measuring distances on the moon, I recommend a model with a larger wheel diameter.

I needed something to measure so my son could practice running his 60 (he plays baseball) and I decided to try this product. I will say I definitely compared this to similar device ps because I was leery due to the price being so inexpensive. I was thinking it’s probably not very well made and not going to be accurate. I ended up ordering it and was very pleasantly surprised. It works great and was exactly what I needed. I’ve also used it for other things I’ve needed to measure distances for. I also love how it folds up and is light and easy to take on the go.

It's great, I use to measure homes and it works. It slides up and down to open and collapse.

I'm using this for high jump athlete step measurement. Was using tape in ground took 5 minute per athlete. Now it is quick maybe 1 minute per athlete. Super fast roll-out measurements, easy to use, portable, lightweight, fits in my backpack. For me a real time saver!!!
