Hillsdale Furniture Martino Bed Set with Rails, King, Smoke Silver

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. We have looked for a long time, it’s well made, easy to put together and looks so good with our other pieces of furniture.

The posts are solid, sturdy, and have a nice cherry finish- not a cheesy bright red. They look good and are strong. The metal panels are lightweight steel tubing, easy to move into place and put connect to the posts. They are a smoky medium grey color that I'd prefer a little darker, but they are still nice. I opted to spend a little more and get the Hillsdale frame and rails to connect it all, and I'm really glad I did. The hardware is good, quality is good, and it holds everything together really well. The bed doesnt wiggle or squeak at all, even when the kids jump around on it. The finished bed sits low, and the bottoms of the rails are only about 5" above the carpet, so if you store things under the bed, you'll be limited, unless you use risers under the posts. I have a standard queen boxspring and 8" matress, and it is below the lower headboard rail about 5". I'd guess the picture is with a deeper pillowtop mattress, so you should be fine if you have one of those. Mine arrived with a couple damaged support feet from rough handling in transit, but a quick call to Amazon got replacements to my door withing a few days. No issues. I wish it sat a little higher, but I love the look and function. Strong, sturdy, quiet, attractive. Hard to beat at this price point.

The color of the metal was too light and didn't look good with the darker wood. Two cans of oil-rubbed bronze spray paint worked magic and now I love it! Sturdy and looks great.

This bed is exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased that I downsized from a king bed, which was too large for my bedroom, to this. I had read the reviews and was worried about the assembly. The frame was the most difficult part - the directions are not clear and were printed on the outside of the cardboard box it came in! I watched a couple of YouTube videos which were helpful but in the end, it was matching up the bedposts to the frame that helped make the needed adjustments in the final assembly. I guess the frame is from a different company than the bed? Regardless, it is complete; it is beautiful and perfect for my space!

Love the foot and headboard

I love this bed, I mistakenly ordered the full frame when needing the queen. I contacted Amazon who Put me in touch with manufacture was able to return the full farm and money credited quickly and I was able to reorder with very quick delivery. Would definitely recommend.

What an absolute piece of garbage! All 4 wooden posters were scratched, 1 was cracked, the tops were not all the way in any of them, and they were all different colors/some were stained dark and some light. They also looked like someone painted the stain on and gave up halfway through, leaving streaks and uneven spots. The metal headboard and footboard are a really ugly cheap-looking light metal that is a weird grey-green color that looks nothing like the photos. I'm not sure why it's called smoke silver, it's not smokey or silver. It was packaged very badly and arrived with a lot of the parts sticking out of the cardboard. No padding at all in the boxes, not even extra cardboard around it. Just one thin layer of easily ripped cardboard. The metal headboard pieces were bent, as were the pieces you attach it to on the frame. Even with all that horribleness we still tried to put it together, thinking we could paint it, except its nearly 8 inches too long for a king-size bed! The people who make this should be ashamed of themselves. Dont' buy this, it's horrible!
